Dr. Davidson’s Sleep Therapy Clinic provides assessment and treatment of sleep disorders, especially insomnia. Insomnia is persistent difficulty falling or staying asleep that interferes with daily life and well-being.
Dr. Judith Davidson is a clinical and health psychologist who has expertise in behavioural sleep medicine. She is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
We see adults (18 and older) who live in Ontario. At this time, sessions are held by teleconference.

Referral Process
Clients can refer themselves or be referred by their health professional. You may access the referral form by clicking the button above. Once completed, please fax it to the number at the top of the form or send it as an attachment to the email on the top of the form. For confidentiality with email, we recommend encrypting attachments (we will contact you for the password).
Once we receive your referral, we will contact you with additional forms to be filled out. Upon completion, you will be seen by Dr. Davidson within 1-2 weeks.
Fees
Psychological services are not covered under OHIP. If you have health benefits (e.g., through your workplace) that cover psychological services, you can submit the receipt for full or partial reimbursement. Our fees are consistent with those recommended by the Ontario Psychological Association. You can contact us for more information.
Before you see us
After we receive your referral, we will arrange to get some forms to you to fill out, including a sleep diary. Sleep diaries take less than 5 minutes to fill out each morning, and we’ll need 7 days of information. Sleep diaries are an important part of the assessment of your sleep and the monitoring of your progress. We cannot use sleep data from smart watches as we are most interested in your own perception of your sleep. When we have your sleep diary and other forms, we will set up an appointment for your initial session.
The sessions
The initial session is a consultation. By the end of this session, you will be deciding with Dr. Davidson on the best course of action to address your sleep problem. In many cases of persistent insomnia, people will choose to have 4-6 sessions of “cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia” or CBT-I. This treatment is the first-line treatment for chronic insomnia and we can guide you through it. CBT-I is very effective and the vast majority of clients are sleeping well within 4-6 weeks and are confident in their ability to maintain their good sleep.
We look forward to meeting and working with you.
